Uganda President Yoweri Museveni’s son Lieut Gen. Kainerugaba has vowed to “fight” defiant opposition leader Bobi Wine if he continues to fight the President in his pursuit to win the presidency.
Taking to his Twitter wall, Lieut. Gen. Kainerugaba asked Bobi wine to tone down his attacks, promising to fight back if he continues.
“I told you, my young brother, that you can NEVER intimidate us. We are much stronger than you can ever imagine being. If you want to fight, we will simply defeat you. We want peace! But if you attempt to fight us, then Bring it on!” the army Lieutenant wrote.
Bobi Wine was arrested and allegedly tortures on Tuesday soon after presenting his nomination papers to challenge President Museveni in the February elections.
The singer cum politician has received threats from the state against his life and political activities.
Just two days ago Museveni threatened to use the military against his opposers to bring “order” in Uganda.
During his nomination, Museveni warned his competitors against destabilizing the country or be dealt with accordingly.
President Museveni accused his opponents of receiving support from abroad and suggested that his government will use force to keep order in the country if he deems it necessary.
“I hear there are people who want to disorganize and act foolishly. I want to assure you that no one will bring disorganization here, and whoever does so will regret it,” the President warned.
“NRM fought to bring peace in this country… I am not holding a gun now, but no one has stronger military power than us, but we don’t scare people,” he added.

However, Bobi Wine seems not to be backing down anytime soon. Responding to Museveni’s son, Wine maintained that Uganda belonged to all of them and “not you (Kainerugaba) and your father”.
“Only cowards & weak men boast of violence! You should be ashamed. Ours is a non-violent call for action. You know that in a free & fair election, your father, the old tyrant, would be no more. This country belongs to Ugandans, not you and your father. You will soon understand that” Bobi Wine tweeted.
