Murkomen gets backlash after his comments on Waiguru impeachment

Date:

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen broke the silence in the matter of Kirinyaga Waiguru’s forthcoming impeachment.

The recently demoted Senator on Saturday, June 13 stated that the Senate would be rendered powerless if the government decided to protect Kirinyaga Governor, Anne Waiguru form impeachment.

“If the government wants to save Waiguru regardless of the facts, then she will be saved. If the government and Capitol Hill dry cleaners combine forces then the Senate will do nothing.” The Senator stated, “A few of us will make some noise, quote the Constitution and our DC will rule us out of order and declare her Mweupe kama pamba (white as cotton),”

This sentiment wasn’t received quite well with people coming out for his “blood” over the remarks.

“Ndugu it’s unfortunate, but let it be known that, this will not start with Anne Waiguru, it started long ago. You folks didn’t fix it, so now it’s fixing you (senate). It’s important to do the right things as opposed to doing things right,” former Kiambu Governor noted.

On Thursday, June 11, The ever-vocal Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria intimated that Jubilee Party-Secretary Raphael Tuju was hatching a plan to save embattled Kirinyaga Governor, Anne Waiguru from her forthcoming impeachment.

“Senator, are you then saying, the Senate is, BURE KABISA (very useless)?” Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi asked the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator who allegedly supported alleged corrupt leaders in the past.
