Bungoma senator Moses Wetang’ula is not going to reconsider his decision on forming an alliance with DP William Ruto.
Wetang’ula said that he is happy where he is now moments after his friend, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka said that he will seek to convince him on joining Azimio la Umoja.
“I can not go back, he is my friend I don’t want to engage him, but I am very happy where I am we are going to form government, we are going to win this elections and the signs are already visible everywhere you can see even yourself,” the Ford Kenya leader told NTV’s reporter.
However, he admitted that his team is incomplete without Kalonzo but claimed that the former vice president is not comfortable with being in Azimio la Umoja.
“But we are incomplete without him so it is mutual because nobody can deny that he is my best political friend in Kenya and I am his best political friend in Kenya. We always acknowledge that, but him he was pulled by the boss to where he is. I am in no doubt that he is in some considerable degree of discomfort,” Wetang’ula said.
He added that he was done working with the former prime minister Raila Odinga. Wetang’ula supported Raila’s presidential candidature in 2017 and 2013.
“With Raila and I, we crossed the Rubicon and no Roman soldier crossed the Rubicon and came back,” he said.
Earlier on after the Upia party NDC where Raila was endorsed for presidency, Kalonzo said that he will look for Wetang’ula so as to convince him to Azimio.
“Those are good thoughts and prayers. Wetang’ula is my brother and friend and I would be pleased if he would join me. We have suffered a lot with him under Nasa, under cord, when we were sprayed with teargas but the truth is we have not formally engaged but if we do it will be a very good thing,” Musyoka said.
