Bungoma county senator and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula has taken time to advise his long term friend Kalonzo Musyoka.
This comes at a time when the Wiper leader is under pressure to make public his political way forward with some of his colleagues in the One Kenya Alliance pushing him to join Azimio la Umoja.
Taking to his Twitter account, Wetang’iula asked Kalonzo to be mindful of the decision he will make especially after being deceived and betrayed in the past.
“My dear brother and friend Vp Kalonzo don’t allow political turncoats to shape your destiny. With the history of betrayal and deceit, plus the arrogance being displayed, think carefully before you enter the tent,” the Ford Kenya leader said.
It is however ironic for Wetang’ula to advise Kalonzo now yet Kalonzo would not have been in the difficult position if Wetang’ula and his ANC counterpart Musalia Mudavadi would have stuck with him in OKA.
On Thursday, the KANU secretary general Nick Salat said that they were tired of babysitting Kalonzo and he should make up his mind once and for all to join Azimio or else he will be left alone in OKA.
Furthermore, governors from the Eastern region namely Alfred Mutua, Kivutha Kibwana and Charity Ngilu have been pushing him to join Azimio so that they can support Raila’s presidential candidature.
Kalonzo however recently fished out the Memoranda of Understanding between him and ODM leader Raila Odinga before the 2017 general elections which he insists must be honored for them to work together.
According to the MoU, Raila was to support Kalonzo’s presidential bid in this years’ election since he(Kalonzo) had done the same in 2017, despite the outcome of the elections.
On the other hand, Raila has expressed his intention of not bowing out of the race to support any other person as he feels this is his turn to serve as the president.
