Details of how Kenya Kwanza will share power in case they win the August 9 general elections were shared with the public causing a buzz among Kenyans.
According to the document that was presented to the registrar of political parties, ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi, his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetang’ula, DP William Ruto are among those who appended their signatures.
In the power structure, the presidential flag bearer position was handed to UDA as well as the running mate slot.
ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi was allocated the Prime Cabinet secretary position while the Speaker of the National Assembly was handed to Wetang’ula and his party.
The power sharing deal states that the speaker of The senate slot has been reserved for Kilifi governor Amason Kingi and his Pamoja African Alliance party.
The parties involved however are required to provide DP Ruto with a certain percentage of votes in the elections before they can be handed the position. For example, Mudavadi and Wetangula are supposed to secure 70% of the presidential votes cast in Western region for Ruto while Kingi is supposed to deliver 50% of presidential votes for Ruto in Kilifi.
Questions have however been raised as to why other members of the coalition including Justin Muturi, Moses Kuria and leaders of other parties formed Kenya Kwanza were left out of the power sharing deal.
A lot of focus has however been directed to Kuria. Netizens have made fun of the Gatundu South MP, who has remained lip-tight over the issue.
Kuria is being trolled because he has been so vocal in attacking Azimio-OKA presidential candidate Raila Odinga over not being circumcised.
Netizens have suggested that the Cabinet Secretary slot for the ministry of circumcision was reserved for him.
