Monny Muthoni, a 22-year old from Miharati in Kipipiri, Nyandurua county is currently trending after she committed suicide.
Reports indicated that Muthoni committed suicide after catching her boyfriend red-handed in another woman’s arms.
The young woman could not handle the pain of seeing her man enjoying himself with another woman that she resolved to end her life.
Before ending her life she took to Facebook to inform her friends about what was bound to become of her.
“Dear world, I am leaving because I am bored. I feel I have lived long enough. I am leaving you with your worries in this sweet cesspool .I tried. No more pain. wake no more. Nobody owns,” one of her posts read.
“I am going to put myself to sleep now for a bit longer than usual. Call time eternity..,” she added.
After writing her final message, some of her friends tried to reach her but she did not pick their calls only for it to emerge later that she had already taken her life.
From reactions from her friends on Facebook, some noted that she had been battling depression for a long time.
Muthoni used the quote, ‘The sun will rise tomorrow and we will try again’ not once but multiple times. The last time she shared the quote was 6 days ago.
“I think apart from commenting on how the picture looks like, it’s also nice to understand the caption! I’m learning this from the repeatedly caption. It shows there’s a message she was communicating all along! Saad!” Kinyanjui Ngingi commended on the above post.
“Going through her wall you realize that she has battled with this thoughts for so many years hence her quote “The sun will rise tomorrow and we will try again” She clearly tried and did her best but reached a point where she couldn’t do it on her own anymore ,
“Boyfriend or not there’s no reason valid enough for one to end their own lives..We need to be our brother’s keepers and pay more attention to our family and friends, Don’t be fooled by those smiles ,If you are close to someone you can be able to read between the lines …May her young soul RIP,” Jacque Mbai commented on Muthoni’s suicide post.
Muthoni is believed to be a former student at Ol’lessos technical training institute.
