Mixed Reactions As PS Kibicho Reveals Plans To Interrupt Mashujaa Day Celebrations

Date:

Interior ministry Permanent Secretary Karanja Kibicho has warned politicians who are aiming at disrupting the Mashujaa day celebration.

President Uhuru Kenyatta will lead Kenyans in the celebrations that will be held in Kirinyaga County on October 20.

According to Kibicho, a section of Mt. Kenya leaders have planned to disrupt the event.

Kibicho said that they had received information that some political leaders from the region were hiring goons to cause chaos during the national celebrations.

“I have received intelligence reports that there are people who are planning to ruin Kirinyaga from Nyeri, Murang’a and Embu and we are saying we will not allow this. As a government we will not take this lightly,” he said in an interview.

Kibicho asked those who are opposed to President Kenyatta to keep off the event if their purpose is to disrupt it.

The PS however did not reveal the identities of the politicians who have the intentions of ruining the event but he is believed to have been referring to Deputy President William Ruto’s allies from the region.

“Simply arrest them and stop whinning,” a netizen said.

“I think those goons should face the anger on the chief general, this great country has no place for goons whoever has planned this shame on him and he has to face the full arm of the law plus kiboko,” another one sated.

Kibicho who has been making preparations for the big event has stated that Uhuru Kenyatta will lead the celebrations and no other county or leaders who will be allowed to hold parallel celebrations.

He has been working closely with the National Celebration Committees in inspecting the facilities that will be used at Wanguru Stadium. The process is almost over just waiting for the event.

“We are putting the final touches on Wanguru in Kirinyaga in preparation for Mashujaa Day celebrations. The rehearsals are also going on,”Kibicho said.
