Milly Odhiambo Accepts She Is Barren In A Heartbreaking Post After Being Attacked Over Childlessness

Date:

Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo has never been shy about her inability to conceive, but trolls have been abusing her as a barren woman for way too long.

Millie has now asked those that are always attacking her for not having her own biological children that she already accepted the will of God, and has moved on from that.

The legislator lamented that she noticed people kept on attacking her for not being able to have her own children whenever a misunderstanding came up.

“Those of you who always like attacking me for not having kids kindly have accepted the will of God and moved on. Am a mother of the motherless and am proud of that,” wrote Millie Odhiambo.

Millie and her Zimbabwean husband Magugu Mabona have one child born to a different woman from his past relationship.

The two lovebirds got married on February 14th 2006, in Kisumu on a ferry in Lake Victoria and have continued to love each other even though they haven’t been blessed with their own child together.

The Suba North MP has in the past opened up on why she struggled to get pregnant, revealing that she was diagnosed with fibroids late in 2001 in New York, USA, but only got surgically removed in 2006.

Fibroids are abnormal growths that develop in or on a woman’s uterus. Sometimes those tumors become quite large and cause severe abdominal pain and heavy menses.

The cause of fibroids is unknown however researchers say that the condition might portend infertility in women, especially if not dealt with in time.

In a 2019 tell-all interview with The Star, Milly said that the urge to conceive her own child rose exponentially following the death of her mother in 2011.

The outspoken lawmaker revealed that she felt a deep emptiness inside her and wanted so badly to have a child in order to fill the void left by her mom’s death.

“In fact, this (her mother’s death) remains the biggest setback in my life. I felt that if I had a child, the hollowness could have been filled. I, however, overcame it,” said Millie.

She added that;

“I knew my mum was very affected by the abuse of childlessness and she expressed as much. I even told my colleagues here at the time that some of the senior leaders abusing me as a barren woman would stress my mother to death.”
