Raila Odinga’s presidential running mate Martha Karua has broken silence after reports emerged that Kenya Kwanza Presidential hopeful William Ruto had defeated the duo in her polling station.
Karua voted at Mugumo Primary School in Gichugu Constituency on Tuesday August 9 morning.
According to the final results of the vote count from the station, Raila garnered 311 votes which represents 25.2% of the total votes casted.
Ruto on the other hand had the biggest share of votes, securing 911 votes(74%).
Through a tweet, Karua expressed positivity while shutting down critics.
“It’s not done till it’s done #kenyaelections2022,” Karua said.
Responding to her tweet, a number of her followers expressed their disappointments on the performance and blamed her for it.
“You totally cost azimio with your brother Uhuru, you guys cannot command just a mere polling station, seriously???? All you knew in the campaign was the famous “harooooo, azimio!” read one of the comments.
“You couldn’t deliver your own polling station to Raila, Mom? How is it not done yet?” another posed.
“It was done immediately after the deputy president debate. You failed Baba. Even in your polling station Ruto won. What a shame!” another follower told her.
