Victor Wanyama and McDonald Mariga’s dad Noah Wanyama says most people in his village in Busia don’t even believe he is the father of the multimillionaire footballers because he lives like a pauper.
Noah Wanyama lives like a very poor person that residents of Ekisumo village in Nambale constituency, Busia County don’t believe he is the father to Wanyama and Mariga.
Wanyama and Mariga played in the best football leagues in the world and earned handsome salaries that made them multimillionaires.
Victor Wanyama currently plays for Montreal Impact in Canada and earns a salary of £62,000/Ksh9.3 million per week, or £62,000/Ksh37 million a month.
You would expect Wanyama’s father to live like a king given that his younger son rakes in a whopping Ksh37 million monthly salary, but not Noah Wanyama.
Speaking during an interview with Mary Atwoli Kilobi while appearing on KTN’s weekly lifestyle show ‘Wako Wapi’, Wanyama’s father said he deliberately lives like a pauper.
Wanyama’s father said he has never lead a flashy or flamboyant lifestyle, that he has always been a simple man throughout his life.
Mzee Noah Wanyama stressed that he is quite humble in his way of life, down to even his dressing. He told Kilobi that he was only wearing a suit because he knew he would be appearing on TV for the interview with KTN.
He shared that many a times, his sharp ears have caught people in his village arguing about him being the father to Victor Wanyama and McDonald Mariga.
Noah Wanyama said most people don’t even believe he is the father of the two multimillionaire footballers because he lives like a pauper.
“Saa ingine natembeanga wanasema huyu ndo baba Wanyama watu wanakana, wanafikiria ni litu likubwa. Yani nko simple, navaanga nguo zingine watu wanasema ‘aa apana, huyo apana’. Wengine wanasema si angekua na bodyguard… Wanaongea maneno na wewe unaskia, wanabishana mbaka wanafika wanasema sio yeye,” said Victor Wanyama’s father.
