A 29-year old man from Umoja estate in Buruburu, Nairobi County committed suicide after his wife decided to end their marriage.
The deceased is said to have ended his life by taking a poison that is yet to be identified.
It is alleged that his wife decided to leave him after an argument ensued between them. The man pleaded with wife not to desert him to no avail.
Later on, the deceased wrote to his wife telling her that he had left the world for her.
The woman tried calling her husband several times but there was no answer. She resolved to return to the house the following day in company of her brother-in-law only for them to find his lifeless body on the bed.
According to the Buruburu police boss Kamau Ngugi, the case is being investigated as suicide.
The body of the deceased was transferred to a morgue.
In a separate incident, a 30-year old man lost his life after engaging in a fight with a colleague while on a drinking spree at Longisa trading centre in Kamagut.
According to DCI, the two worked for a local security firm and had disagreed over job placement.
The deceased identified as Peter Ekai is said to have disagreed with Elphas Kipkoech, 26, accusing him of plotting for his downfall at their place of work.
“Ekai reportedly told Kipkoech that he had reliably learnt that he wanted him sacked, so that he could replace him at ChapChap security agency,” DCI statement reads.
A bitter argument then ensued between the two who were already drunk, with Kipkoech denying the allegations.
“As the war of words escalated, tempers flared up and they started fighting using sharp objects. Ekai was unfortunately stabbed on the chest and rushed to Moi teaching and referral hospital in Eldoret, where he later succumbed to his injuries,” DCI said.
The suspect who had suffered injuries was treated and discharged after which he was whisked away to Eldoret Police station for processing to answer to murder charges.
