Man Beats All Odds To Survive An 11-hour Flight On The Front Wheels Of A Plane

Date:

An unidentified man managed to beat all odds to survive an 11-hour flight on the front wheels of a cargolux freight plane.

The man was discovered alive after the Boeing 747 freight plane arrived at the Schiphol airport in Amsterdam, Netherlands from South Africa.

The plane had only made a stop at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi according to Schiphol’s website and flight tracking data on Sunday.

According to the Royal Dutch Military Police spokeswoman Joanna Helmonds, the man was taken to the hospital in  a stable condition.

“Our first concern of course was his health. This is definitely very unusual that someone was able to survive the cold at such a height, very, very unusual,” she said.

The stowaway’s identity and nationality was not established immediately but it is unclear whether he boarded the flight in South Africa or Kenya.

Helmonds further said that stowaways to the Netherlands are very rare noting that previous attempts involved migrants from Kenya and Nigeria.

According to reports, the man had an elevated body temperature when he was found, however by the time the ambulance showed up, he was able to answer a few questions.
