Isaac Mwaura has been nominated to the Senate twice, first under an Orange Democratic Party ticket and later by Jubilee, in 2013 and 2017 respectively.
He is always referred to as a politician who has never won any elective seat despite several attempts, and the nominations might have just come as a reward for supporting the parties.
The lawmaker ditched ODM for Jubilee to vie for the Ruiru Parliamentary seat in the 2017 general elections.
He claimed that he had put into consideration what the people in Ruiru had told him hence the decision but still lost in the party primaries.
Mwaura, one of the key allies of the DP, also lost in UDA party primaries that were conducted recently ahead of the coming general elections. He was seeking a UDA ticket for the Ruiru parliamentary seat.
He lost bitterly to his opponent Simon Ng’ang’a even after engaging in a serious campaign to persuade the people to vote for him.
In some photos that went viral last month, Mwaura was captured speaking to himself as he made rounds in Ruiru, because no one paid attention to whatever he was saying.
In a separate photo, he was captured on top of a ladder sticking a poster of himself as he sought to popularize his candidature. It was also expected that his loyalty to DP Ruto would pay off but the ground had a different person in mind.
Mwaura however conceded defeat and said that he would support Ng’ang’a to ensure that he is elected to parliament in the coming general elections.
Despite not winning any contest in active politics, Mwaura has however won when it comes to the kind of home that he owns in Membley, Ruiru.
The senator has to be a happy man after such a great milestone in life and when his retirement comes knocking, he won’t have any difficulties embracing it. He is another of Kenyan Politicians enjoying life on a big spoon.
Mwaura owns a well-furnished one-storey mansion that is fitted with dark-grey roof tiles . It has been painted cream on the outside that has blended with stone finishing.
The house is fitted with large windows and has two parking lots on one of its wings. The area near the house has been carpeted with concrete paving. Adjacent to the house, there is a section that looks like a garden with carvings on antelopes and fitted with security lights.
