Speaking in an interview with Presenter Ali, Pamela said that she does not want her child to suffer like she did by ensuring that she is able to complete her education.
“I was born in Mumias in a polygamous family and when I was about two years, there was an outbreak of measles and I was one of the victims. That was in 1982/83,” Pamela said.
After suffering from measles, she developed a problem with her legs. She was taken to Kenyatta Hospital where she was given a special type of shoes that she could put on daily.
“Life became normal, I was taken to a normal school and after class 6, I was taken to a special school in Bungoma,” she said.
After primary, she joined High school in Thika where she underwent an operation once but could not continue with it since her bones were already mature. She was however given crutches as she was just using a walking stick.
After completing High school she stayed at home for ten years after which she went to Nairobi where she stayed with her brother for about two years.
Pamela has broken her arm thrice and now she is unable to work as she used to. Currently she is relying on well wishers for survival.
Her baby daddy dumped her when she was three months pregnant. She however got another husband who also dumped her after a misunderstanding.
Pamela’s daughter had to learn how to perform chores at a tender age of five years. Lucky enough her landlady has accommodated her and she only pays her rent when she can but she is afraid she will one day get tired.
