7,292 people are seeking various elective posts in the coming general elections slated for August 9 on an independent ticket.
According to the registrar of political parties, Anne Nderitu, out of 7,292, 47 are eyeing the presidential seat, 107 gubernatorial seats, 151 senatorial seats.
Those eyeing parliamentary seats on independent tickets are 973 candidates while 5,902 will be going for the Member of county assembly seats.
For the Women Representative positions, 112 have expressed their interests.

Their might however be changes on the list once IEBC scrutinizes it. The deadline for applications for those seeking seats on independent ticket was on May 2, 2022 midnight.
Out of those who applied, 4, 501 made applications online while 2,971 submitted their credentials manually.
