List of Kenyan Politicians Whose Greed For Power Is Unmatched

Date:

Being in power seems to be something that a number of Kenyan politicians can’t afford to live without.

Some Politicians have continually expressed their interests in serving in elective positions as others prefer higher ranks as time goes by.

There are politicians who began ruling since the late President Moi’s Era and have been there through retired President Mwai Kibaki’s era as well as that of President Uhuru Kenyatta and still they have their eyes on the coming general election.

Clearly, some politicians have no interest in leaving positions for others and below is a list of some of them.

Naomi Shabaan

Shabaan has served four times as the MP of Taveta. This makes her the longest serving woman MP in the country.

She was first elected into the seat in 2001 during a by-election when Basil Criticos resigned.

In 2002 she was elected in a similar position under the KANU ticket. In 2003-2007, she served as Kenya’s representative of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.

The MP was re-elected to serve as MP for Taveta in 2007. In 2013, She contested under a TNA ticket and still defended her seat in 2017. She has however not made it clear if she will be defending her seat in August polls.

Keynan has served as the MP of Eldas since 1997 and he is still going to defend the seat on August 9,2022.

He is among politicians who have served for long in the North Eastern part of the country. The peak of his career was when he chaired the committee  Public Investment Committee (PIC) and came up with recommendations that led to the arraignment of senior state officials who were corrupt.

Maoka Maore

Maoka has served as MP of Igembe North for four terms. First he was elected in 1992 under the DP party, he was re-elected in 1997 under the same party and in 2002 under KANU. He however lost in 2007 but won again in 2017 under the Jubilee Party.
