William Ruto’s hostile reception in Kisii proves that Nyanza is locked and strongly behind ODM leader Raila Odinga.
The deputy president on Sunday took his campaigns to Kisii county in the greater Nyanza region where he met section of leaders and residence.
Ruto attended church service at Deliverance church after which he addressed faithful before leaving for another mass at St. Denis Kenyenya Catholic church, Bomachoge Borabu Kisii county.
On his way to the mass service, Ruto made several stopovers to engage residents, however he was shouted down at most of those stopovers.
The deputy president was not welcomed as hostile residents chanted ‘Baba’ and ODM related slogans at several stopovers.

Ruto was forced to pass without making stopovers at some places as aggressive residents shouted demanding that Raila should be respected.
However, the deputy president continued with his tour in the region selling his ideologies and manifestos to the people of Kisii county. The deputy also campaigned for the bottom up economic model which he says will change Kenya.
In Kisii town, Ruto’s convoy is seen moving at the light of speed while residents are heard shouting and chanting “Raila”, “ODM”, and “Baba”.
Irate youths dressed up in ODM Jackets and reflectors are seen demonstrating in the streets while demanding that Raila must be respected.
Ruto has been trying to make inroads into Raila’s Nyanza backyard, he was in Awendo, Migori county two weeks ago where he was hosted by governor Okoth Obado.
Prior to Ruto’s visit in Migori, governor Obado and several ODM politicians from the county appealed to residents to embrace peace and welcome all political leaders regardless of their political affiliations.
ODM is the most dominant political party in Migori, UDA is hard sell especially in Luo Nyanza as Ruto is the fiercest rival of Raila Odinga who enjoys fanatical support in the region.
