In readiness for what awaits him, Kikuyu Member of Parliament, Kimani Ichungwa has decided to give an earlier farewell message to the house budget committee.
MP Kimani’s farewell comes at a point when the Jubilee Party continues with its clean up in the National Assembly. The purge is said to target members who are associated with Deputy President William Ruto.
The Kikuyu Member of parliament has chaired the budget committee for the last three and has also been a member of the committee on appointments in the National Assembly.
The second legislature has been a staunch supporter of DP William and his 2022 presidential bid and has been one of the critics of the handshake between President Uhuru and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
According to his statement on Twitter, MP Kimani said the Monday budget committee meeting was his last as the chair.
“This morning in my last budget committee meeting that I have chaired for the last three years. This marked the last meetings of the Budget 2020/21 Estimate engagements,” a statement by Kimani Ichungwa read.
In his statement, he also appreciated the entire membership of the Committee for their confidence they exhibited in his leadership of the committee since 2017.

“I appreciate the support and counsel of every professional team at the Parliamentary Budget Office with who we have worked and combed through figures under immense pressure at times.
