Residents of Bigsal apartments in Mtwapa, Kilifi were left in dismay following an incident where by a couple committed suicide by jumping the from fifth floor.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning at 3 am.
According to DCI, the couple whose bodies had multiple fractures jumped from their bedroom’s balcony.
According to a night guard, there was a loud bang in the backyard followed by a deafening noise of a car alarm that immediately went off.
“The guard went round to check what was happening, only to be confronted by the sight of a man’s naked body, lying on the ground. As he pondered his next move, a second body this time belonging to a woman landed on his feet with a thud!” DCI report read.
The guard is said to have been shocked by the sight of falling human bodies and immediately took off to a police station.
“The guard immediately took flight engulfed in fear, towards Mtwapa police station. On arrival, the bewildered guard told detectives that there were ‘falling ghosts’ at his place of work,” DCI said.
Detectives accompanied the guard to the scene where they discovered a body of a woman and a man.
“It was established that the woman identified as Lucy Nyokabi, 23, was a tenant in the apartment and was cohabiting with the man who has only been identified as ‘Rastaman’,”DCI said.
They established that the couple had been fighting before committing suicide after accessing their house. The bedroom’s floor was flooded with blood while a glass table in the living room had been shattered.
In different case, a 47-year old man who is a licensed gun holder was placed in custody at the Kilifi Police Station after posing danger to the public with his fire arm.
It is alleged that the suspect went after a younger man whom he suspected to be having an affair with his wife.
DCI stated that the suspect trailed his wife from their home in Mtwapa to Tamaduni gardens in Kilifi town where he busted her with a 29-year old man having a good time in a car.
“He immediately reached for his ceska pistol and discharged one round in the air, ostensibly to scare & get hold of the young man who jumped out of the car and fled for dear life. The suspect tried to stop the fleeing man who sprinted faster than a cheetah, in vain,” DCI said.
