Six police officers accused of killing the two Kianjokoma brothers were on Thursday released on a cash bond of 300,000 Kenya shillings or an alternative bond of 3 million shillings.
While issuing the judgement, Justice Daniel Ogembo barred the six police officers from steeping feet in Kianjokoma arear where the incident took place.
However, one of the suspects by the name Benson Mputhia who hails from the county of Meru has been allowed to pass through Embu since it is on his way to Meru.
The prosecution had previously asked the court to have the four male officers be remanded at Industrial Area while their female counterparts be held at Lang’ata Women’s Prison pending any application before the court.
Following the release of the officers accused of killing the two Kianjokoma brothers, this is how Kenyans reacted:
“This doesn’t surprise Kenyans anymore, justice denied always but the above will fight for those boys. ?”
“What I think doesn’t matter, curfew caused death to these brothers, curfew has been lifted and a mom somewhere is in grief. Does it matter?”
“This is what making police mistreat Kenyans. How can you give out cash bail to someone who has killed innocent unarmed person???. Guess what happening in Ethiopia now and their gonna come a time when Kenyans will be fully tired of this police brutality. Currently they are arresting normal Mwananchi within CBD as early as 8:00PM.”
“The judicial system in Kenya is just so fake!!a poor person can be jailed for life because of stealing his neighbours’ chicken while a murderer will just walk scott free.”
“It only happens in Kenya where those in power wanaumiza wale wakulima wadongo but God will them thr one day.”
“Is this a question or an insult to us, people the likes of you have been reduced to slay and blog as you let police brutality to innocent people happened?.”
“Justice must be found and courts should stop collecting huge sums of money by freeing criminals who always torture citizens in the name of security tuss.Think of the tears of the mother who lost her two sons.”
“Why do u want an accused person to rot in jail? ….the accuser should prove beyond reasonable doubt that the accused is guilt.”
“This doesn’t surprise Kenyans anymore, justice denied always but the above will fight for those boys. ?”
