Kenyans were on Monday impressed by deputy president William Samoei Ruto after he called a press briefing to call out the high fuel prices.
According to these Kenyans, they were happy that William Ruto who has been playing safe for the first time in history defended Kenyans on important matters.
The deputy president while addressing Kenyans at his Karen home directed the blame of fuel shortage to some cartels which he did not mention.
The deputy president even wondered how fuel in neighboring countries such as Uganda was cheaper compared to Kenya. According to the deputy president, 39 billion fuel levy fund was diverted to other things.
However, William Ruto went ahead to blame the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader for supporting the government agenda instead of playing his opposition roles.
As a result, he said that he will be playing opposition roles whenever there is need just to point out serious issues in government.
To prove that they were happy, Kenyans had the following to say following Ruto’s move to take over opposition roles from Raila:
“I am proud of William Ruto because for the first time he has defended Kenyans on an issue that matters. All that time he had been waiting for Raila to come to the rescue of Kenyans but I am glad he has called a press conference today .”
“Woow our chief hustler can definitely be an opposition leader to reckon with. Is it not just refreshing for a country to have both the government and opposition leader running concurrently?”
“Raila has been defending Kenyans for long until we became thankless and forgot how that mzee was to our nation. I am glad he decided to take a rest and our deputy president seems to be replacing him very fast.”
“William Ruto, we are happy that you are practicing the opposition roles a few months before the general elections. You have been used to a soft life in government now you will feel what Raila was feeling in the opposition. Leo nimefurahi at least umetetea nchi all along you have been playing safe.”
“Wonders will never seize DP of Kenya is now taking the opposing leader’s position before the dissolvement of the government, so who is going to answer your questions? Stop fooling Kenyans.”
“Even Raila used to cry like this and it did not take him anywhere. I am a kikuyu but I am happy that Ruto is also going to suffer in the opposition. To make it worse he rejected the BBI which could have made him a powerful opposition leader.”
