Kamiti Arrest: Kitui Locals Disappointed As DCI Goes Silent On The 60M Reward

Date:

Kitui locals who gave the detectives a tip off on the three suspects who recently escaped Kamiti Maximum Prison are disappointed with the silence of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI).

The four terror suspects were arrested on Thursday but the DCI has gone silent and is no longer discussing the 60 million Reward that was put on the heads of these criminals.

The three terrorists who escaped from the highly guarded Kamiti Maximum Prison were arrested in Enzio forest in Mwingi East, Kitui county while on their way to neighboring Somalia.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) had on Monday offered a 60 million Kenya shilling reward for anyone that would issue information on the three terror suspects.

Through a statement shared on Monday, the criminal detectives confirmed that the three rogue suspects escaped Kamiti Prison past midnight at around 1 am.

“A reward of Ksh 60 million will be offered to anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the following three terror suspects, who escaped from Kamiti Maximum Security Prison today at 1 am,”  read part of the police statement.

Following the arrest, Kenyans had the following to say:

“All the locals who saw The 3 bloody terrorists in Kitui must be given their Ksh 60M. Especially the first person to see them! This must happen! The government must isolate mediocrity this time round!”

“Watu wa hiyo village wapewe ile bounty ya 60m wagawane kbala hao warudishwe Kamiti. Gava isiwaruke.”

“Where is the video? Can’t believe this, might be an old photo being used. Nobody escaped, I repeat no one escaped.”

“I think this is a planned escape , Perhaps they want to say we gave out 60 million for getting this guy’s . Easy way of looting public funds.”

“In the developed world, even the convicts’ faces are not shown like this! Reason, to shelve them off public harassment after correction and stigma!”

“Tuko 47 million people. Mpee kila mtu one million alafu mgawane iyo 13 million..”

“These people are not serious. After escaping a maximum security, you cannot even survive for one week outside.”

“Make public the identity of the individual who has collected 60M..it could be your cousin brother.”

“Why do I think this was a planned escape meant to achieve something..Our government has never and will never be this efficient.”

“I think it was a citizen’s arrest. The govt only came with the handcuffs ?all in all they are now safe and we are safe too.”
