Wiper leader Steven Kalonzo Musyoka is under pressure from his immediate family to back the Azimio presidential candidate Raila Amollo Odinga.
According to a local publication, these members of the family are up in arms against three leaders from Ukambani region for misadvising the Wiper boss for their own selfish gains.
It is reported that the family members are telling Kalonzo Musyoka not to go for presidency on three grounds. The first ground is the fact that he has no financial muscles, the second reason is that it is too late now and lastly is their agreement in the Azimio La Umoja One kenya Alliance which is likely to bar him from vying.
Citizen Weekly reports that members of the family include Kalonzo’s two sons namely Kennedy and Kelvin. These two are blaming Kitui senator Enoch Wambua, Makueni senator Mutula Kilonzo and makueni MP Dan Manzo for being behind their father’s woes.
According to them, the above leaders were responsible for making their father to be indecisive politically. As a result, they now want Kalonzo Musyoka to bargain with the Azimio side for his political future and that of his supporters across the country.
They opined that the three leaders misled Kalonzo to decline the offer by Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga of naming him the chief cabinet secretary post if the coalition wins in August.
“During the meeting with family members during is retreat at kalonzo rural residence, his family was clear, Kalonzo’s future is in Azimio compared to Kenya kwanza of William Ruto, the deputy president where his two sworn enemies Machakos governor Alfred Mutua and former senator Johnson Muthama have pitched tent.” Reported Citizen Weekly.
The family further stated that the three leaders were pushing the Wiper leader to go for the presidency knowing very well that his chances of scooping the top seat are nil.
