Wiper Democratic leader Steven Kalonzo Musyoka has explained that he does not regret showing up before the Azimio Interview panel.
The Wiper leader had on Tuesday attended the seven interview panel chaired by former Kwanza MP Dr. Noah Wekesa at the Serena Hotel in Nairobi.
According to Kalonzo Musyoka, he attended the interview panel since he did not want anyone to raise an excuse against him not to deputize ODM leader Raila Odinga ahead of the 9th August general elections.
Kalonzo added that it was his own personal decision to appear before the panel, describing the process as more of a conversation as opposed to being an interview.
“I want to tell you that it was my decision to come because I realized we didn’t want to give anybody an excuse whatsoever to say I refused to show up,” Kalonzo told journalists.
“It was a useful conversation with the panelists led by Noah Wekesa. The Committee has great and experienced men like Bishop Njenga and Bishop Zacheus Okoth. I looked at that in my own right and said why would I not want to go and meet Bishop Okoth? I had to make that decision.” He continued.
This comes just days after the Wiper party leader ruled out any possibilities of attending the interview to be Raila’s runningmate. Musyoka described the scheduled interview as a mockery since he had deputized Raila in the past hence did not deserve to go through all that charade.
The former vice president has been putting pressure on the Azimio presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga to either make him the deputy president or else he forgets about his support.
Infact, Kalonzo at some point claimed that Raila Odinga will not make it to the statehouse if he doesn’t select him as his running mate.
