Joho Panics In The Mombasa Polls As He Fails To Directly Endorse ODM’s Abdulswamad Nassir

Date:

Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho is not a happy man this morning and seems to be reading mischief in the ongoing election.

Joho after casting his vote panicked over turnout which was so low and disappointing as he blamed the election commission of playing monkey games by postponing the election more than once.

The governor went ahead to claim that many polling stations around Mombasa were equally recording very unusual low voter turnout.

However, what stood out was his post after casting the vote where he was too general and did not directly tell people to vote for the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate Abdulswamad Nassir. This is what Joho wrote after voting:

“I have exercised my democratic right and voted for the next Governor of Mombasa. The county is peaceful and vote processing is efficient. I urge all residents to come out in large numbers and vote.”

On their side, his followers challenged him to give them direction on who he had voted for instead of just being too general without endorsing his party candidate. Below were the sentiments by his followers:

“Thanks governor Joho for exercising your democratic right but how i wish you provided direction on who to vote for. Saying you have voted for the next governor of Mombasa is not just enough.”

“You are too general mheshimiwa or have you decided to stay neutral? You should tell us who you have voted for rather who we should vote for.”

This comes just a few minutes after kakamega governor Wyckliffe Oparanya reportedly endorsed Kenya kwanza’s Cleophas Malala through his official Facebook handle. However, the Kakamega governor has so far distanced himself from that post, claiming that it was hacked by people whom he referred to as agents of doom.
