National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi was on Wednesday evening sent out of the house following a scuffle between him and Sigowet/Soin member of parliament Kipsengeret Koros.
Speaking during a press conference, John Mbadi said that Mr. Koros bit his finger, forcing him to act in self defence in a bid to protect his finger which was profusely bleeding.
“When I told him to leave, the member charged at me and he actually bit my finger. I was acting in self-defence.” Mbadi said.
Mbadi also added that Mr. Koros was wrong to insist on voting for a member of parliament who was not present in the house despite being warned against the move by the clerks of the house.
On his side, Luanda legislator who was chairing the parliamentary seating found John Mbadi guilty and ordered that he be taken out of the house for disorderly conduct.
“Hon Mbadi is hereby directed to leave precincts of this House,” MP Omulele ruled.
As a result, the Suba South member of parliament will be excluded from five seatings beginning from today over disorderly conduct in Wednesday’s afternoon session which saw the House adjourned amid chaos from rogue members.
“Honourable Mbadi, you are hereby directed to leave the presence of this house for gross disorder. You are ordered to withdraw immediately from the presence for a minimum of five days.” Said Christopher Omulele.
Speaker Justin Muturi had called the special House session to discuss the contentious Political Parties Amendment bill which has caused tension in the country with leaders allied to DP William Ruto terming it ill-timed.
Suna West member of parliament Peter Masara and Tigania West legislator John Mutunga could also not spare their childhood excitements and engaged in a fight of hurling water bottles at one another before Ugenya member of parliament intervened.
