It seems the immediate governor for Kisii county James Ongwae may be forced to spend five years in political cold since he joined politics.
James Ongwae was on Thursday morning accompanied by other leaders from the Kisii region where they paid a courtesy call to president elect William Ruto at his Karen home.
They included; Richard Tongi the former Nyaribari Chache MP, former Kisii Governor James Ongwae, former Women Rep Janet Ong’era, James Kenani the ODM candidate in the just concluded Nyaribari Chache elections who failed terribly, former Borabu MP Ben Momanyi, Jimmy Angwenyi, Zadoc Ogutu and many others.
Sources narrated to Sonko News that the leaders had gone to negotiate for favors from the president elect after Azimio presidential candidate Raila odinga lost the election. The source argued that James Ongwae has spent two weeks trying to get an audience with Ruto but the president-elect kept pushing the dates forward due to the high number of visitors at his Karen home. Fast forward, Ruto finally gave them an appointment on Thursday where they were led by one Eliud Owallo.
However, sources around Ruto have revealed that their request for favors have been vehemently denied because they contributed nothing towards his success. According to one Gloria Orwoba who was recently nominated by the UDA, Ongwae has no choice this time round but to stay in the political cold. Below is what Orwoba wrote:
“Welcome home Former Governor of Kisii County H.E. James Ongwae.
You humiliated us members of UDA in Kisii, tulikula tear gas na viboko juu yako…but thank God our President H.E. William Samoei Ruto is a man of peace…a leader who understands that he is the symbol of National Unity.
Interesting times ahead …A footnote to #TeamGlo : Ongwae has never spent his adult life outside of government…he cannot imagine a life without a flag on his car. Wacha sisi raia tumfundishe maisha ya hustler.GOD IS GOOD!”
Another Ruto ally Sylvanus Osoro revealed that no deal was reached when the former Azimio leaders visited Ruto at his Karen home. This is what osoro wrote:
“and RELAX FOLKS. They came for a photo. WAMEENDA..We forgive but CAN’T FORGET..Get it FROM ME. Nothing came forth, nothing will come forth. SAHAU..New blood it is.”
