Former Lugari member of parliament Cyrus Jirongo has taken a swipe at the deputy president William Ruto with his hustler narrative.
According to Jirongo, DP Ruto thrives in inciting the citizens against others, a factor which makes him unsuitable to take over the leadership of the country.
Specifically, Jirongo claimed that the DP has successfully managed to divide Kenyans along a new tribal line called the haves and the haves not, something which may not augur well with the peace of the nation come 2022.
The former Lugari legislator made these sentiments on Thursday as he addressed the Mt. Kenya Foundation Meeting in Nairobi, where he insisted on the country having peace not only now but also in future.
He added that talking about the economy of the country is a waste of time if chaos will be witnessed again just like in the past elections.
“They have now created another tribe in Kenya called the rich and the poor using exactly the same strategy. That I must identify an enemy, and I must label that enemy and use it for my own benefit.
“You all must resist the tribalism that has been used before to create chaos in this country, to the point that you have now identified another tribe called the haves and created another one, the haves not just to perpetuate the same crimes you have perpetuated all through right from Rift Valley and now you have brought it to the national level.” Said Jirongo.
“And this we cannot continue to pretend. We got to face it now, we got to engage with the youths now and we need to talk to them now and remove what has been put on their heads. Lazima tuitoe.” Added Jirongo as he strongly criticized Ruto’s hustler narrative.
