Jalang’o, who is eying Langata parliamentary seat, has been forced to come out to set the record straight on his political affiliation.
Jalang’o/Jalas (real name Felix Odiwour) ultimately broke his silence after a photo of him and DP William Ruto went viral on social media.
UDA bloggers on shared photos of Jalang’o meeting Ruto at his official residence in Karen and claimed that the vocal comedian has officially joined UDA party from ODM party.
Photos of Jalang’o posing with Ruto were taken way back before the comedian joined politics to contest for Langata parliamentary seat on an ODM ticket.
Jalang’o took to social media to fight back claims that he has ditched ODM for UDA. He shared a July 2021 video of him officially joining and assured his supporters that he is still loyal to ODM party leader Raila Odinga.
“Langata is starting to get hot and our competitors are not sleeping either…wameanza propaganda! Wacha tuwakumbushe chama ni ODM! Azimio la Umoja!! Wamepanick!!” Jalang’o wrote.
Jalang’o officially joined ODM on July 15,th 2021 and was received by the party’s Secretary General Edwin Sifuna. In a statement, ODM said the comedian had joined it as a life member.
“Jalang’o today officially joined the biggest political movement in the country. He was handed the Life Membership certificate by SG @edwinsifuna. We keep marching on #TukoTayari,” ODM said in a tweet.
