Renowned comedian Felix Oduor, popularly known as Jalang’o has strongly dissociated himself from the rumors that have been trending online alleging that he abandoned the late comedian Othuol Othuol at the time of need.
The comedian is reported to have succumbed to a brain tumor on Sunday at the Kenyatta National Hospital where he had been admitted for two weeks. Consequently, WhatsApp chats emerged where the fallen comedian was asking for Ksh.15,000 to perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging. According to the WhatsApp screenshot, the recipient never saw the late’s message and only replied after he passed on.
Feeling irritated, Kenyans took to various social media platforms to express their displeasure and as a result, they apportioned blame games to Felix Oduor. Most of them alleged that the screenshots belonged to the celebrated comedian Jalang’o. However, the allegations have not gone well with him.
Through his Facebook account dubbed Jalang’o Mwenyewe, the radio presenter condemned the bloggers propelling that narrative. He denied any links with the alleged chats and termed them malicious meant to bring him down. According to Felix Oduor, they had been there for the late Othuol Othuol, including holding three different fundraisings via their group “Comedian Kenya” to sort out his bills.

“But if you decide to associate me with screenshots, who am I to change your thoughts? Not me…Go ahead and associate me,” he protested. According to him, he was the first person to give the late various platforms to showcase his talent nationally. For instance, he cited Kenya Kona on KBC and Srikal Ya Bibi on K24. In addition, he made reference to one TV advert called Safari ya Battery, amongst others.
He urged Kenyans to consider what they publish online and termed Othuol’s death as sad and hurting to the core.
