Jakoyo Midiwo to be kicked out of his Kisumu mansion

Date:

Former Gem Member of Parliament Jakoyo Madowo is set to be kicked out of his rented mansion in Kisumu in the coming week over rent arrears.

Kisumu City Manager, Abala Wanga through a notice addressed the politician over his rent arrears totaling Kshs. 876,000 that he owes to the Kisumu County Government.

The Kisumu County government has threatened to evict politicians among them one Jakoyo Midiwo who are said to have rent arrears of millions of Kenyan shillings.

“Our records indicate that you have not been making payments regularly since you occupy the above premise and have accrued arrears of Ksh876,000.” the official notice issued by the Kisumu County government read.

“In view of the aforesaid, you are hereby given seven working days to ensure payment is done, failure of which the tenancy will be terminated henceforth without any further reference to you,”

Midiwo has denied owing the County government the aforementioned monies arguing that he had not lived in the house for that long and that doesn’t warrant the rent arrears thrown at him the government.

“They agreed to repair the house,” Midiwo dismissed the notice as a misunderstanding over the mansion’s repairs.

Kisumu Senator, Fred Outa has also been served a notice of eviction and five other politicians.

Fred Outa is set to be kicked out within the next 7 days if he doesn’t pay the Ksh. 1.7 million.
