Papa Shirandula actress Joy Karambu popularly known as Kawira was married to Pastor Ephantus Wahome Safari.
The two were in marriage for six years after dating for about two years before their marriage came tumbling down. They had however been blessed with twins who came after three years of marriage.
In a YouTube interview Kawira shared her marriage story, revealing the exact day and time that she decided to call it quits while hinting on the possible cause of the separation.
“In my case, I left the marriage. I left on Tuesday 16th June 2020 at 4.00pm. When you see something you don’t know where it is heading to you better go on your own way and look for other avenues for the sake of your own peace,” she said, hinting that she did not know Safari too well before accepting his marriage proposal.
“The thing I would [like] to advice people is this please know someone very well before you get married and the then the thing of till death do you part, it is never that serious, don’t wait there if you feel in your heart that you are not in the right place,” Kawira added.
She came to discover some things about Safari when they were already in marriage. She however does not blame him for the failed marriage.
“I can say that I entered into this thing without exploring all the avenues by the time I was knowing some of the things that I know right now, it was too late, I was already in the marriage. If you don’t want something to be known, you can hide it for a very long time,” Kawira said and advised people that they should try all means to know the good and bad side of someone, their moods and reactions to issues during the courtship period.
They tried sorting out their differences multiple times but nothing ever worked.
“We were church people but there are a lot of things we didn’t know. When you see a person, you think that is the right person, but once you are together, you find it is not what you expected. After staying in marriage for sometime, is when I realized, this is not what I wanted,” Kawira said.
She completely cut ties with Safari such that they never communicate despite having children together.
