“It literally Paralyzes You,” Kambua Opens Up On The Encounter Of Losing A Child

Date:

Gospel artist and TV host Kambua has opened up on child loss nearly a year after she lost her second born, few days after his birth.

Kambua announced the passing away of their new born, whom they had named Malachi in mid February last year.

Taking to her Insta stories, Kambua explained that the death of a child not only affects parents but also those who had hope of experiencing him/her.

“Losing a child doesn’t only affect the parent, it affects siblings, grandparents, aunties, friends, everyone who had hope of experiencing the child,” Kambua wrote.

She added that losing a child was like a taboo and shared some of the encounters that parents who had faced such undergo.

“Losing a child is so taboo. Child loss is a taboo. I have learnt this first hand and also through people I love who’ve walked the journey. the stigma, the shame, the criticism, the judgement, endless questions and unsolicited advice. But I have learnt to guard, my peace fiercely and at all cost,” the singer stated.

From her experience, Kambua says that losing a child is more painful than the loss of any other person.

“Because I have experienced loss of a parent, grandparents, friends, and nothing absolutely nothing comes close to the pain of losing a child. It literally paralyzes you,” Kambua said.

She added that the journey was so lonely and that some of those who are grieving want to move on but they just don’t know how to do it.

She promised to continue having such conversations to help those who do not have the courage to speak out.

“On this here, ‘my space’, I will continue to have uncomfortable conversations not just for me but many others who don’t have the courage to. Love always Mama boys,” She concluded.
