Insane Amount Of Money Spent To Hire Range Rover Limousine Hearse For Orie Rogo Manduli

Date:

The late Orie Rogo Manduli lived like a queen and has also been accorded a royal send off with a Ksh20 million Range Rover limousine hearse hired to carry her casket.

Manduli was known for her exquisite taste for fashion and general flamboyance, the first thing you would note about her was the iconic towering headscarf.

The family of the former chairperson of National Council of Non-Governmental Organisation decided to dig deep in their pockets to accord her a befitting sendoff.

The coffin bearing the remains of Manduli arrived at All Saints Cathedral Nairobi on October 5th in a posh Range Rover limousine hearse for her requiem mass ahead of the burial.

The posh Range Rover limousine hearse made heads turn at All Saints Cathedral, it stopped at the entrance and a red carpet was rolled for pallbearers to carry the casket in style into the church.

The Range Rover limousine hearse that carried Orie Rogo Manduli’s body is owned by Delights Funeral Services.

Delights Funeral Services charge clients a premium to hire the elongated vehicle which is worth Ksh20 million.

At the beginning of this year, Delights Funeral Services director Harrison Muchiri revealed that they charge approximately Ksh500,000 to hire the services of the posh Range Rover limousine hearse.

Ksh500,000 a day for the Range Rover limousine hearse is almost as expensive as hiring a helicopter.  To hire a chopper is expensive in Kenya. For one hour, you will cough between Ksh150,000 and Ksh170,000. This is calculated once the helicopter is airborne.

The Range Rover limousine hearse is only hired by wealthy families who prefer to accord their departed ones a last ride in style.

The stretch limousine hearse first made headlines in January this year during the burial of Mama Hannah Mudavadi – the mother to ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi.

The late Manduli will be buried on Saturday October 9th at her home in Kitale, it’s not known whether the Range Rover limousine hearse will be used again during her burial.

Manduli died at her Riverside home in Nairobi on September 8, 2021 after collapsing. This happened as she was preparing to go for dental check-up.

The late Manduli is remembered as fiery politician and first Kenyan woman rally driver. She was born in Kisumu county in 1948.
