Include Me Too In The BBI – Ruto Tells Raila And Uhuru

Date:

Deputy President William Ruto has called on President Uhuru Kenyatta and his handshake partner Raila Odinga to include him and other Kenyans in the BBI process.

Speaking at the Mashujaa Day Celebration in Kisii, The DP noted that there was a need to bring together everyone in the process to ensure the country realizes the much-needed unity.

Ruto called for dialogue to accommodate those with divergent opinions in the Building Bridges process.

“Former Prime Minister has talked about reggae. That is fine. But I guess we will have a robust national conversation that will bring everybody on board,” the DP said.

Ruto’s sentiments come after Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga maintained that nobody can stop the “BBI reggae”.

William Ruto has been a fierce critic of the process terming it an agenda targeting to create positions for a few individuals at the expense of the ordinary “wananchi“.

At the function, the DP hailed the “hustlers” as the real heroes of the Mashujaa Day celebration.

Ruto said the ordinary Kenyans toiling and boiling to spur the economy should be celebrated.

“Millions of Kenyans in towns and cities who wake up early and sleep late, in offices in factories, in farms and in all other places, working hard for our nation diligently, with commitment, determination, with passion and with integrity to make meaning of our independence and to continue with the journey of making our nation free. To them too, we celebrate them as our mashujaas because of what they do on a daily basis,” he said.
