Elon Musk, who is the new CEO of Twitter has given a clue about deleting Twitter accounts that are inactive.
This comes after a request that he received from one of the users. The user complained of several dormant accounts with excellent Twitter handles. The user Erich Rusch gave a proposal for a rule where inactive Twitter accounts should be deleted after one year of being inactive.
“Request for @Twittermgmt. Please purge all inactive accounts. There are so many inactives sitting on excellent Twitter handles. Rule should be: If you have been inactive for more than a year, you have 30 days to log in. If not account gets deleted,” reads the tweet.
The ‘Chief Twit’ Musk as he referred to himself in his Twitter bio concurred with Erick. This is seen in his reply where he replied as ‘definitely’.
The reply attracted the attention of several netizens using Twitter. Quite a number were happy with the suggestion.
This comes a few days after Elon Musk started working towards several changes on Twitter. Some of the reforms he made were on the bird app on Twitter, whereby twitter is to charge a monthly fee of $20 for the blue tick verification badge.
According to a report given by The Verge, which was founded in 2011 and is all about technology and how it makes people feel, Elon Musk has a plan of charging twitter users $20 and the people who already have verified accounts are to comply with the rule by paying for the badge.
The users have been given a grace period of up to November 7. The report also stated that Twitter users have 90 days to ensure they comply with the blue badge law or lose their check mark.
