In form Olunga bags hat trick as Kashiwa maul Vegalta Sengai

Date:

Kenyan International Michael Olunga continued with his red hot form for Kashiwa Reysol, scoring a hat trick as his Japanese club beat Vegalta Sengai at the Kashiwa Stadium on Sunday morning.

Olunga bagged the goals in the 40th, 58th and 73rd minutes and even missed to score a penalty in the 60th minute.

Olunga had already started his season on a high, scoring the lone goal as Reysol beat Gamba Osaka 1-0 in the J-League Cup .

Just days ago, Olunga moved to the top of the Japanese top-tier scorers chart as he scored a goal to help Kashiwa Reysol beat Urawa Diamonds 4-0 in a league match at the Saitama Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

The 25-year old forward looks to replicate his form from the J2 League last season where he scored 27 goals and laid in nine assists in 30 games.

Reports indicate that Ligue 1 side Lens is monitoring his progress and could make a move for the striker, who has previously played professionally in China and Sweden.

Up next for Kashiwa Reysol is another league match away to tricky opponents Nagoya Grampus, a team that has had the honours of being coached by the great Arsene Wenger.
