It is nine years since the father of Wahu passed on and the singer says that she remembers him and still loves him.
In an Instagram post, the mother of two wondered how the relationship between her father and her children would have been if he were still alive.
“So many times I catch myself wondering…if dad was still here….what would his relationship with my kids be like now? I can almost see my Tumiso talking to you about boys she likes & sharing her big dreams and desires with you (boys and dreams were topics you welcomed!!! now that I’m a parent, i understand why ?. Good one dad!) i can see you tickling Nyakio silly …and her squeaking loudly as she ran away,” Wahu wrote
She also wondered how the relationship between him and her husband Nameless would have evolved.
The artist reminisced on the good old times she had with her dad, revealing that her dad would pray for her through a phone call whenever she was about to travel.
“I can see us walking in the forest the way we often did, as we talked about life and all it’s twists and turns. I loved how openly you told me “I love you Wahu”. I loved our quick phone call prayers before I traveled… they had a way of making me feel safe,” Wahu recounted.
She further said that she was not prepared when he left them. She however thanked him for being an amazing dad.
“I wasn’t ready for you to leave…but you had to… it’s the painful reality of life. yet in as much as you are departed physically, you live on our hearts, our memories. Thank you for being the amazing dad that you were to us. continue resting in peace. 9 years on, we remember, and will always love you. continue resting in peace,” said Wahu.

The cause of Wahu’s father’s death remains unclear but it is alleged that he was ill when he passed on.
