Former Radio presenter Andrew Kibe has narrated the events that led to him to turn his back on churches and being a pastor.
Kibe who was commenting on a video whereby gospel singer Size 8 was captured casting out demons from people at a church function said that he stopped believing in churches because they fake everything including the miracles.
According to him, he used to be skeptical and kept wondering why he would not feel the way other members in church were feeling during prayer sessions.
“I used to be those guys so what happened I kept wondering why I was not feeling this feeling, I kept walking from church to church hoping that one day I will feel this feeling that people feel until they cry. I wondered where that feeling was. I was not feeling it. Why are you crying,” Kibe said.
In a bid to to also try and get the feeling, he even went to Benny Hinn’s event that was held at Uhuru Park and discovered how such preachers have a way of getting into people
“I have gone to a person called Benny Hinn. He had a big crusade at Uhuru park. Those guys collect money that is even picked with G4S vehicles. They had the biggest speakers that I have ever seen, I think he removed his coat, but there is a part that they play music, they slowed it down and it is in the evening, it is only this guy’s voice that you can hear and you start anticipating, it is called the opium of the masses,” Kibe narrated
The preacher then said that he was hearing the spirit of God, at the moment people had gotten into a trance and wanted to get that spirit.
“Because they have promised you that when the spirit of God comes, it is going to take away your problems, give you jobs, take away your physical issues such as sickness, now you are creating a movie in your head for yourself,” Kibe said.
“I am there creating movies in my head but alert, curious to see if this thing was real, I was skeptical. Then finally after he’s whipped us in a trance, I am still alert because I want to witness for myself, then in the loudest voice I have ever heard of he says ‘Touch!’ People got shocked and started falling down,” he added.
Kibe however claimed that such preachers have their own line of followers who fall first so that the rest of the congregants can follow suit. There are also those who claim to have been healed.
“Bro it is hypnosis, men stop this bullshit. protect your mothers, wives, daughters, you sisters against this nonsense because women are easily duped,” he said.
That is why he considers Size 8 exorcism fakeness and theatrics as well as that of Rev Lucy Natasha. Kabi wa Jesus was also not spared in the criticism.
Kibe mentioned some of the things done in churches that people should avoid including; too many meetings, long praise and worship sessions, where people speak in tongues, perform miracles among others.
