Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura landed new roles days after losing in United Democratic Alliance party primaries.
Mwaura was eyeing the Ruiru parliamentary seat on a UDA ticket but lost to the current MP Simon Kang’ara
He was appointed by DP William Ruto to head UDA campaigns in Kiambu county and also to be in charge of people with disabilities.
Through a tweet, the Deputy president also lauded Mwaura’s move to accept the outcome of the party primaries that were held on April 14.
“Welcome Hon @MwauraIsaac1to the Kenya Kwanza national campaign. Your magnanimity to accept the outcome of our just concluded party nominations in Ruiru Constituency adds to your leadership credentials. I wish you well in your new role as team leader in Kiambu County and also in the community of people living with disabilities,” DP Ruto said.
On the other hand Mwaura showed gratitude to the second in command for giving him the two roles.
“Thanks a lot H.E William Samoei Ruto the Deputy President of Kenya and GOD willing the 5th President of our country for the new role that you have given me to be in the Presidential Secretariat as Team Leader of Kiambu County and National Disability Affairs Coordinator,” the senator said.
His followers on Twitter however did not spare him for always getting free things and here are some of their reactions.
“Waiting to be nominated! This time hujagonga ndipo dadi prepare to go home asante ya punda ilikuwa teke na malipo in papa hapa,” Mwalimu Kent said.
“In the impending chaos of an incoming electoral defeat, you better hope Ruto will remember you for nomination. It’s unlikely, adding to people like Keter, Kositany, Malala, Sakaja, MDVD, Weta, his hands will be quite full,” read another comment.
“Even after washing utensils, and cutting sukumawiki for women you cannot win an election?? Nominations ndio zako?” Moses Owuor posed.
In the nominations exercise Mwaura garnered 2,428 votes while Kangara won by 4,688 votes.
