I Don’t Need Permission To Support Raila, I Am a Grown Up- Fred Matiang’i

Date:

Interior cabinet secretary Dr. Fred Okengo Matiang’i has taken a swipe at DP Ruto and his allies over what he termed as micromanaging his political decisions.

While speaking on Thursday afternoon, Matiang’i made it clear that he does not need permission from anybody  to support Raila Odinga’s 2022 presidential ambition.

According to Matiang’i, President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga have done a good job since the inception of the handshake hence it would only be logical for him to stand with Uhuraila anytime.

As a result, he called upon the entire Nyanza region to rally behind the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader as he makes the fifth and probably the last stab at Kenya’s top seat.

The interior cabinet secretary reiterated his earlier sentiments that he will be at the forefront to ensure that there is maximum peace in the country both before, during and after the general elections.

“Ati ooh mwambie CS Matiang’i asizungumze maneno hiyo ati raila na handshake kwendeni!!! Lazima tufanye vile mambo iko. Let’s stop this pretense ati tunajifanya hapa ati there are things we can talk about and there are things we cannot talk about.

“Sisi tukiwa Nyanza hapa Nyanza we are one people and we have agreed all of us that raila Odinga is our supreme leader and this time round we must speak with a united voice.

“And we will all be united. What is wrong with me saying that? What mistake have i done? I have not asked anybody to grant me permission to support prime minister Raila Odinga neither have I sought permission to stand with president Uhuru who is my boss.” Said Matiang’i amidst chants from the crowd.

The interior cabinet secretary added that it would only be logical for him to stand with the choice of president Uhuru Kenyatta by virtue of being his CS for national security. Below is the full clip:
