It has now emerged that huge sums of money were used to plan and execute the attack on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga’s chopper.
In an exclusive investigation carried out by the competent Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), they found out that key William Ruto allies were involved in the evil event which almost took away the life of the Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
A source from the DCI has revealed that there are several Mpesa transactions that could be directly attributed to the three leaders mentioned.
To distance themselves, the personal assistants (PAs) of these leaders had records of the MPESA transactions sent to some of the culprits that were arrested on Saturday evening by the police.
Even at the time of the arrest, it is reported that some of these rogue youths were in possession of bundles of new 50 shillings notes, further justifying the fact that the event was financed by very powerful individuals in RiftValley.
Interestingly, the Directorate of Criminal Investigation established that the attack was organized and enabled by William Ruto’s right hand men from his Riftvalley backyard. The leaders were Soi Constituency member of parliament Caleb Kositany, speaker of Uasin Gishu County Assembly Mr. David Kiplagat and most importantly Kapseret Constituency hon Oscar Sudi.
To prove that he was involved, Oscar Sudi on Saturday during one of the burials owned up and begged the opposition leader to forgive him for the act. It seems Sudi had succumbed to the pressure that was coming from every stakeholder condemning the barbaric act.
In his own words, the Azimio presidential candidate while speaking in West Pokot on Saturday opened up that the Friday event was a near death experience as stones came from all sides not only when he was inside the car but also after he had entered the chopper where he thought he was safe.
He narrated that stones came in like a heavy rain and he had nowhere to hide within the chopper thanks to his sharp pilot who managed to take off from the deadly environment in Uasin Gishu county.
Below was Raila’s explanation on how his chopper and car were pelted with stones:
“Sisi hatujapiga mtu yeyote. Wakati tumekuwa na fujo pahali popote, tumelaani. Jana mimi nimeona vioja. Vijana wanakuja sisi tukienda kupiga tu pole kwa familia ya Kibor alafu wakaanza kupiga magari yetu mawe. Mawe yananyesha kama mvua kwa gari langu. Wakipiga, nikauliza ni nini inafanyika. Vijana wakangoja nikiingia kwa ndege alafu nikaona mtu anarusha mwamba mkubwa na sikuwa na pahali pa kuenda. Nilishangaa, ni mambo gani haya. Majamaa walitaka kuua sisi. (We have not assaulted anyone. When there has been violence anywhere, we have condemned it. Yesterday (Friday), I saw came to condole with the family [of Jackson Kibor] and then some people started hurling stones at our cars. The stones were raining on my car. When they hit, I asked Junet [Mohamed] what was going on. Young people were waiting for me to board the plane, then I saw someone throw a big rock. The guys wanted to kill us),” narrated Raila Odinga.
