DP William Ruto and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi alongside several of their allies are in the United States for a series of diplomatic engagements.
After the US trip, the group will head to the United Kingdom and Qatar before returning to the country.
DP Ruto and his delegation first met with Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts in Omaha for a discussion where DP Ruto advanced the interests of Kenyan farmers by urging the governor to tap into the Kenyan market for tea and coffee
“The State of Nebraska is home to the USA’s most innovative agricultural and livestock sectors. This presents significant opportunities for knowledge, partnership and technology transfer for Kenya. The state is also a potential market for Kenyan tea and coffee,” DP Ruto shared on his Twitter account accompanied by photos of their meeting.

It was however noted that DP’s delegation embarrassed him since none of them was seen with writing materials yet their US counterparts were taking down notes.
“On the side of the Kenyan delegation, NONE has neither a notebook nor a pen; they’re listening, and hopefully recording in their RAMs. Please DP, ask your folks to take notes, ama hii ni mkutano ya kukunywa tu kahawa?” Chrisogonas Mc Odhiambo responded to DP Ruto’s post.
Ruto’s trip has however been subjected to criticisms by his haters who believe that there is a hidden motive behind it.
“Kenyan Government and STATE must be very careful with William Ruto’s travel to USA and UK. At this time, it can only be a way of shipping back home ILLEGAL money and money LAUNDERING for the campaigns. MUST be STOPPED!” blogger Lord Mutai Abraham claimed on twitter.
Others however thought that the list of those who accompanied him was too long thus raising questions of how funded the trip.
“Why should the Deputy President travel with 31 people to the USA and UK? Did people just get an easy opportunity to tour the USA? Hey U.S. Embassy Nairobi what’s the visit for? Can you explain to me why we have so many people travelling with Ruto?” popular blogger Robert Alai raised the concern.
