GSU Officer Goes Missing After Graduating From Embakasi Training Camp Last Week

Date:

It has been 5 days since 23-year old Mohammed Nur Daud, a fresh graduate from the Embakasi GSU training camp went missing.

His family says that the graduate left the training camp in Nairobi for his relative’s place at the same county in Eastleigh before embarking on a journey to his home in Mombasa and since then, they have not heard anything from him.

“I had talked to him that day, he told me he was going to Eastleigh. In the evening, I asked his aunt if he had reached Eastleigh but she said she had not seen him. That was the last time we spoke. His phone is off,” his father told Citizen TV.

The family is now pleading with authorities to find Nur, who was set for a two-week break before taking up responsibilities after the graduation.

Details at the GSU college indicate that he left the camp on Thursday December 9. A search for him has however been launched.

Daud’s mother Barwaka Adan has pleaded with the government to help in tracing the whereabouts of her son whether alive or dead.

“I request the government to find my son, I don’t have the capacity. Tell me if he is alive or dead,” Adan said.

The 23-year old is said to have left his home in Barsheba, Mombasa County, for the GSU training camp on February 27 with a promise to transform the fortunes of his family.

“He said that he will be very happy if he comes out of the place he was going for training so all of you pray for me to successfully finish my training and I will bring great hope to this family and we told him that we will pray for him wherever he would be,” his brother Ali Daud said.

Mohammed  was among the 2,502 trainees who graduated on December 8 after a 9-month training.
