Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya angered the top leadership of Musalia Mudavadi-led party after holding a meeting and ANC official’s home on Friday.
An attempt by Vihiga officials to block Governor Oparanya from attending the meeting was looped as the political gathering proceeded uninterrupted.
The meeting that was steered by the Bunyore elders was held at the home of ANC branch chairman Julius Ochiel, a move that never sat well with Mudavadi’s team.
Mr. Ochiel did not only use the meeting as a political gathering but also used it to mark the anniversary for his father, the late Nehemiah Ochiel who once served as the mayor of Kakamega.
The leadership has already called a meeting to be held tomorrow to replace the defiant Mr. Ochiel for hosting political a leader from a rival party.

During the meeting, the police blocked both journalists and the members of the public from accessing the meeting that the Governor Oparanya and Luanda MP Chirs Omulele attended.
The regional police commander Leornard Omolo told journalists that he had informed Governor Oparanya that the meeting had not been allowed.
