There was drama at the Kibera Law Courts when gospel singer Ringtone was giving his testimony in a case whereby he was assaulted by blogger Robert Alai.
The singer was overwhelmed with emotions as he gave an account of the incident that occurred on July 23, 2021 at Kilimani.
“[He came to]the driver’s window, at first when he hit the glass which just shattered, the second time, his rungu penetrated into the car and the third time he hit my jaw. He did not hit me while silent. He was saying Ringtone I will kill you,” Ringtone told the judge as he sobbed uncontrollably.
On the fateful day, Ringtone and Alai had been involved in a minor accident leading to the altercation. Ringtone was driving his Landrover while Alai was in his Subaru Outback.
Videos from the scene showed blood oozing from one side of Ringtone’s face. In a separate video, he could be heard questioning why Alai was taking the law in his hands.

Several times, the singer has complained that he is still struggling with the consequences of being hit by Alai.
“I recovered outside but inside my head I have not recovered. Sometimes I faint in the house. One day if I faint in public they will say I am chasing clout. I faint in the house,” Ringtone revealed in a past interview.
He added that he did not undergo surgery because he got scared after being told that his head will be split in the middle.
“I was told they would split my head, I got scared that I would die so I just asked God to heal me,” the Pamela hitmaker said
