It has now emerged that the slain Frank Obegi was a private man who could disappear from his family for some time whenever he had money.
According to his father Evans Bowendo, whenever his son had money, he could go missing and switch off his phone for even one week so that no one knew about his whereabouts.
While at it, the father revealed that Frank Obegi updated his WhatsApp status in company of many ladies having fun in all the posh places in Mombasa.
Evans Bowendo went ahead to confess that his son used to have a lot of cash which according to him originated from the business of selling tickets online.
“He told me he was selling air tickets online. That is what he told me when he came from home. How he came to be murdered still puzzles me as a parent. I am in pain.” said the disappointed father who could not really understand the source of cash which he used to splash on trips, drinks and women.
“He had money. When he got the money you could see on his WhatsApp status he was in Mombasa, sometimes he was in an aeroplane. I asked him and he told me the money he has is usually commission from the business he was doing.” He said.
Narrating about the death of his son, Bowendo said that he received the shocking news from one of his friends
“One of his friends called me and told me that my son Franklin has been found at City Mortuary. I sent my brother to come here and check whether it’s true and they found his body,” stated the father.
Frank Obegi’s body was found alongside those of Moses Nyachae ,Fred Obare, Elijah Omeka, and in Kijabe Forest and Magadi area.
