Former Embakasi East parliamentary aspirant Francis Mureithi on Saturday demanded that the death of the Returning officer Daniel Musyoka be investigated.
Francis Mureithi while addressing the mourners distanced himself from the late Daniel Musyoka to the point of claiming that he had never met or seen him in the whole of his life since he became a candidate.
The claim however did not go well with his followers who stated that the former aspirant was engaging in open lies because all the parliamentary candidates must always present their documents to the Returning officer before they are cleared to run for any seat.
Therefore, these followers wondered how Francis Mureithi was cleared and who cleared him if not the Constituency Returning officer even as he claimed that he never met him. Thus, they immediately branded him a suspect.
“I want to confirm here, Musyoka, just the way the church has said here, was straight forward. Since I became a candidate, we have never met. He used to call me on phone; Mureithi if you aren’t coming to the office, send someone. And if I send, he used to serve me accordingly,” Mureithi explained during the burials.
“Ati you never met? Who cleared you? Why are you trying to distance yourself from being a suspect? Honestly Mr. Mureithi I voted for you in Embakasi East but the rate at which your yapping about this death makes some of us doubt you.” Said Vivian Mwende.
Mureithi also called upon the Kamba Nation to use their traditional methods to bring to book the killers of Mr. Daniel Musyoka.
“Na hata nyinyi wakamba mnakuanga na haki. Si mnakuanga na haki? Si mnakuanga na njia yenu ya kufanya haki? Si kuna kile mnaitanga kathithu? Si mganganishe chini? si mimi niko hapa?” He said amidst cheers from some mourners.
Mureithi further opined that Daniel Musyoka did not like bribes although this sentiment also left his followers questioning how he knew the guy never loved bribes if at all he never tried approaching him with the same.
“I’m saying this while here at Musyoka’s home today. Because Musyoka couldn’t take bribes from anyone, he wasn’t biased in his job. Those who murdered him if not arrested, I will from next week lead demonstrations in Nairobi to send someone home,” Mureithi stated.
“Unajuaje hakupenda bribes? Ama ulijaribu kumpea akakataa? DCI kujeni hapa kwa matanga mbio kuna suspect pelekeni yeye ajibu maswali.” Complained Duncan kamau.
