Drama ensued at Ndivisi market in Webuye, Bungoma County after a man confronted William Ruto and asked him to fulfil his promises.
The deputy president took his campaign trail to parts of Busia and Bungoma counties on Thursday November 4th.
While campaigning in Ndivisi market in Webuye, Ruto was confronted by a local leader who reminded him of unfulfilled promises.
The man identified as Daktari Yaya demanded Ruto’s attention while he was addressing the crowd gathered at Ndivisi market.
Ruto was concentrating on another person addressing him by the side of his vehicle when the chairman of the market Daktari Yaya began his speech.
“Your excellency, tafadhali your excellency am talking to you. Excuse me am talking to you your excellency,” Daktari Yaya demanded Ruto’s attention.
“Ok endelea bwana endelea (Ok continue),” Ruto said after ending his conversation with the other man.
Daktari Yaya went on to heap praise on Ruto for appointing a local from Webuye East constituency to a prime position within UDA party.
“Watu wa Webuyu East walinituma nulete shukrani ya Webuye East kwa heshima ambayo uliwatunikia watu wa Webuye East kuchukua mtoto wao kumpatia ofisi kubwa ya chama ya UDA. Tumeshukuru sana your excellency for your love to the people of Webuye East,” said Daktari Yaya.
However, Daktari Yaya went on to remind Ruto that a delegation from Webuyu East visited him at his Karen home in December 2020 and that the DP promised them something.
Yaya called on Ruto to fulfill the promise that he made to the delegation from Webuyu East when they visited him.
“Hii Webuye East ni constituency ambayo iko na changamoto mingi wewe unajua tumekueleza. Hio hatutaenda kwa hio, kitu ya pili your excellency naomba nkukumbushe tu kwa ufupi – boda boda muko hapa? Women groups muko hapa? Your excellency ulikua na ahadi na hawa watu vile tulikuja kwako mwezi wa December last year. Na hio maneno nakuachia wewe mwenyewe ujue vile utafanya hayo maneno kwa sababu hawa watu wako hapa na wametega maskio sana wanataka kusikiliza your excellency,” said Daktari Yaya.
