Date:

Comedian Eric Omondi is planning a grand procession with Kenyan artists to the National Assembly on Tuesday, November 16.

Eric took to his social media accounts to urge both upcoming and legendary musicians to join him at Parliament Building on the said date so that they can make their demands.

“Ready to make history!!!We are storming the Parliament on Tuesday at 10am. If you are a Kenyan Musician or Aspiring Musician let’s meet in large numbers at Parliament Buildings   at 10am next Tuesday. We won’t be asking for much,” the comedian said on Instagram.

The self proclaimed president of comedy further said that they will only be making two demands so as to revive the entertainment industry which he claimed is dead.

“All we want is: All Local Media to play 75 Percent of Local Music just like it is in Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Zimbabwe and the List goes on and on,” Eric said

“That established local Musicians are accorded equal pay and treatment as their  International Counterparts by promoters and event organizers,” he added.

Of late, Eric has been very vocal in bashing Kenyan musicians. In one of his posts, Eric said that the industry was dying after some of the artists got wives and settled down.

“My MESSAGE is we LOST Something and my POINT is together we can FIND IT and BRING it back. @sautisol @khaligraph_jones and @bahatikenya you are our only hope but TRUTH BE TOLD tangu MUOE things have not been the same???. I cannot sit back and watch our Industry go to sleep and keep quite, LAZIMA TU NIFUNGUE ROHO. @sautisol I know we are ALONE TOGETHER and we APPRECIATE the Single individual releases lakini GROUP ikinyamaza ni Industry na Mashabiki ndio wanaumia,” Eric said.

Eric has however received a backlash especially from musicians with some of them claiming that he is trying to shift Kenyans attention over his recent scandal with his baby mama Jacque Maribe on child support.
